[livejournal.com profile] theo_winterwood spent spring break with me up in Jersey. After learning that one of our favorite movies, Friday the 13th, was filmed in my great state, we planned a road trip. Friday the 13th was filmed about 2 hours away from where I live during breaks. The camp it was filmed at is not open to visitors but we walked around Blairstown where the opening was filmed. The trip was tons of fun. The drive up was beautiful and we stopped off at Greystone in Morristown. Which is an old asylum now shut down.

Photos from our trip with screencaps from F13 for comparison:

1.

The bridge has been worked on but it is till the same spot!

Looking from the bridge to behind the mill.

Oh NOES! [livejournal.com profile] theo_winterwood is SCARED.

As am I!

Or not:

4.
Okay. In the opening of Friday the 13th, all these shots are in order. From the mill, the girl walks to this gas station then to the buildings in the next cap. What is funny about this?

5.
These buildings are literally right down the street from the mill in cap 3. So, cutting to her walking to the gas station then on to here was silly.

6.

We wanted to go to this diner but sadly, it does not exist anymore.

Check out the menu! It says 'Blairstown Diner'!

7.

Did I mention a young Kevin Bacon was in this movie? Looking bored with his GF.

In a blue speedo.

That is his ass being grabbed by his GF. Riveting stuff.

8.

THE END. Credits roll.

I have a TON of pictures from Blairstown and Greystone. I plan on posting some more later but felt that this picspam was needed. I also have pictures from our Red Bank trip aka the Kevin Smith Exodus!
