rexe at 02:36pm on 13/10/2005I think I did well on my theatre test as per usual. We did a mini-playwrighting workshop. We got extra credit if we shared our ideas. My first idea was completely in joke related so I came up with a new idea.
My Play Ideas (note to all: I'm procrastinating from doing laundry and studying for my anth test)
1. (the one I shared)My one -act: A catholic school in NJ experiences a the effects tornado and its aftermath. The township shuts down, people get scared, and whole psychological stuff happens. No one in the cast would ever have experienced a tornado before.
-This is based on a true story. There was a tornado that hit the area around my high school. It was not that bad but the township at to shut down and our school was without power. Some people had no idea what was going on at first. I was stuck in a windowless room on the second floor when the power went out, we got shifted down to the gym.
2. Rainbow Movers take on Canada. The go on quest to find and kidnap several well-known Canadians *cough*.
-At some point a trip will be made to Canada to find the club Babylon with all the Rainbow Movers. This actually came about because of another theatre assignment. We had to listen into private conversations and make a scene out of them. I never got the chance nor could I find any good fodder. So I basically came up with a scene that developed because of Brian and Alyssa starting a conversation and me taking it from there. The started out with a boy and girl singing the Elephant love Medley from Moulin Rouge (if you know my friends this makes much sense), then it degraded into Hedwigs Origin of Love, Casablanca, stealing my fedora, setting squirrels upon me, cats taking over the world, me obsessed with Callum-person, girl wanting to be queen of Canada, boy and girl plan on taking over canada...
It makes sense when read in a linear fashion.
