David Hewlett in a santa costume = my saving grace
So the procedures went fine - detailed synopsis below
SparkNotes version = So far everything looks okay, the results from the biopsy will come back next week, we will know more then.
So for the past two days I've been stuck on a liquid diet + laxatives. What sucks about the laxatives is pain in the stomache. I was also up till past midnight both nights. Very uncomfortable.
So ended up getting slightly lost going into Philly which would not have happened if I was either driving or reading the directions. This I know for a fact due to my grandmum was reading the directions and messed up on them. Anyways.
We get to CHoPs having passed - University of Penn. Museum of Archeaology and Anthropology!!! So cool! I'm making my parents take me there.
Ended up getting to the GI area, had to get my vitals checked. Had a discussion about Sean Bean with my nurse. She was putting my IV in my hand and told me to go to my 'happy place'; my Mum pipped up about Sean Bean and how he was older, etc... Was humourous, and I managed to get the IV in. When I got my enema, she let me watch TV, what was on = Pokemon. *snerk* so the enema was fine.
Paced about in my little bed/tv/monitor area till the Doc who was doing the procedure came in got consent talked about what was going to happen, etc.
Got taken back to the Procedure room, everyone was really nice. Turned out my anastelogist (yeah, can't spell that NO MATTER WHAT) was looking at a house in East Windsor. Interesting. Got hooked up to the 'Knock ME Out Machine', when out, got the procedure done. Came out really drowsy and out of it.
Woke up on a stretcher in my bed/tv/monitor area (curtained off). Had REALLY bad pain. Turns out after the procedure it is normal. So after awhile it started to fade. My Mum and Grandmum suprised me with the cutest stuffed snowman named Snowdin. I was very cold due to the liquid in the IV. After I was lucid, my Mum turned on the TV and put on Suprise By Design. I didn't get a choice in the show. ^^;
So after running the restroom, changing back into my jeans. (got to wear my flannel!!! - best part)I got my iv out and got a spiffy bugs bunny band-aid.
After making it back to the car I saw a license plate that said 'Rest Now', and I took it's advice. My Mum was dying for a coffee so we stopped at Barnes and Nobles in Oxford Valley. I ended up buying The Highlander by ...can't remember the author. I needed a highlander pre-Culloden romance.
So I'm back. My throat hurts (normal after an endoscopy), and am currently watching The 2nd Day of Christmas. David Hewlett!!! In for maybe five minutes total?? But in a Santa suit in the beginning. ^_^
Some days I am so spoiled. I figured after the hell I went through these past few days, I deserve it.
