A Separate War – PLOT BUNNY

I looked over into the other bed. My heart fluttered as I looked at it’s occupants sleeping body. How I longed to look into eyes. If only I could touch his lips. What was I thinking! I was acting like a pervert and I knew it. I should feel bad. I don’t feel bad. Is it wrong falling in love with the enemy? Why do you make me feel this way? God, Finny, you always win everyone over don’t you? You won me over so long ago. Don’t you see that?

I look around me here at Devon. The polished wood, the waxed floors shine in their stiffness. I see all of us boys fighting a war. I see all the men who left fighting a war. I see myself fighting a war against my heart and losing. You changed me Finny. Sometimes I start to wonder if it was for the worse. My heart says that without you I would still be in my shell.

You were jealous. Now I am jealous. I am jealous of anyone who gets close to you. I’m jealous of that pink shirt that hangs on your body. I’m losing the war Finny. I’m losing it to you.
