To this. That is all.

I am almost entirely done with two classes. Just a matter of sending projects to professors. Damn. Working in Hyperion. And I just beat Alyssa at Rock, Paper, Scissors. I am a genius. I am currently making a outline for my cultural landscape paper. I think it might help. This is my last HUGE paper. It's due Tuesday so I need to have like half of it done tonight.

Google Talk convo:
Alyssa: what do want to eat?
bruce sprinsteen
sprinGsteen
is delicious
mmmmmmmm
although if i were a camera, he could take me out with his crotch
actually
he still can
if he wants

AKA. SHE IS CRAZY.

Now back to work. I am hungry.

Downhill

Tomorrow is my last day of classes as an undergraduate. Tonight is my last all-nighter of my undergraduate career. As much as I have no idea what I am doing in three weeks, I am in a strange happy mood.

And now I am about to write a paper on Jude the Obscure.

I'm Gonna Let it Shine

Yesterday was fantastic. I was up till the early morning finishing a paper. As it was, I got very little sleep. Which sucked. I was still exhausted from the day before in which I had stayed up finishing my presentation of the Richardson-Olmsted Complex in Buffalo. I was stuck working on my class's presentation for tonight, yesterday till like almost an hour after class had ended. (I had to compile everyone's slides, revise said slides, resize images, add maps, etc..)

All in all I was done with work at 5:30 after being busy the entire day and working on very little sleep. Then...

I SAW PETER YARROW OF PETER, PAUL, AND MARY IN CONCERT; It was fantastic. I ended up getting there about ten minutes late but it was a fantastic experience. Peter was a delight. At the end of the concert, he talked about how he could only sing Puff the Magic Dragon with young people and invited people up on stage to sing with him. I was by myself and totally shy so I stayed in my seat. He started singing then stopped and said how he knows how there are people out in the audience who wished they had gone up on stage but were shy. We had ten seconds to get up on stage. ^___^

So I went up. It was AWESOME. We sang Puff and a medley of This Little Light of Mine and My Land is Your Land. It was just an amazing experience. Peter hugged everyone afterward and I GOT A BIG HUG and a KISS on the forehead. Roomie had to miss the concert due to class but she go to see Peter at the end. I dragged her on stage and he sung to us about being pretty and sweet to the tune of Over the Rainbow. Then kissed us.

It was wonderful. Then I got to go with Roomie to Capital Ale House to meet up with her class and Professor Harding. Having a beer and talking with your prof is a little surreal but awesome.

Also, discovered Roomie has a male clone.

Update.

The problem (there are actually many) with being friends with almost entirely English majors is that they keep screwing up my writing style. This might be blamed on my taking of English classes this semester as well. But still! This paper I really need to finish typing is sounding like some ridiculous ode to baseball stadiums. I want to sleep. Bleh. I have been up like almost 20 hours. This is ridiculous.

RL POST!

This is the final week of classes. I have completed three presentations. I still have one more to go. As well as MANY papers. One of which is due tomorrow.

That is what is going on in my life. Next week something interesting might happen.

As it is, I spent the day listening to presentations. And learning to love black coffee. And making a powerpoint for my last presentation.

Paper time!

And the Orioles won tonight! Thank god. I am so glad I missed the last series of games.

I am going slightly mad. Time for a dance party.

MUST GRADUATE.

EDIT: Okay. I might be pulling an all-nighter. I blame all my English Major friends. They distracted me all day with symposiums, career searches, indoor picnics, and beer. Back to presentation.

Orioles 4-2 SEASON THUS FAR

I saw the Orioles play the [Devil] Rays Friday night. It was amazing. I FINALLY GOT TO CAMDEN YARDS! I saw my first (and until friday night, only) Major League game at Memorial (the old stadium in Baltimore). After they built Camden Yards, games were constantly sold out so I never got to go to another Orioles game since I moved to Kansas.

Friday nights at Camden Yards is Student Night so Left Upper Reserve tickets are $6. [livejournal.com profile] theo_winterwood and I were literally sitting in the last row. The nosebleed seats. I had problems making out the scoreboard and the players numbers but that is why I have a friend with crazy awesome vision. (I need to go get my eyes checked before I lose my insurance) The game was great.

I listened to last night's game via internet radio and it was also GREAT. Today's game? Horrifying. 11-3 Rays. Damn. No sweeps yet but still. I didn't follow today's game because I couldn't find any sort of A/V feed.

Meanwhile, no work is getting done. And I changed my baseball tag.

Though I like the various forms of football in the world, I don't think they begin to compare with these two great Anglo-Saxon ball games for sophisticated elegance and symbolism. Baseball and cricket are beautiful and highly stylized medieval war substitutes, chess made flesh, a mixture of proud chivalry and base - in both senses - greed. With football we are back to the monotonous clashing armor of the brontosaurus. ~John Fowles

O HAI THAR

THE ORIOLES WON 10-5 AGAINST THE YANKEES! HAH! I don't care what the sports forecasters say, it is going to be a great season. By the way, the new Road uniforms?! AWESOME. I am so glad they have Baltimore written on them. The Mets won against the Reds! Which is also awesome.

My work load is crazy but I am ignoring it like usual. My brain says NO.

ORIOLES! Why, hello there Mr. Jones!

OPENING DAY 2009

"I believe in the Church of Baseball. I've tried all the major religions, and most of the minor ones. I've worshipped Buddha, Allah, Brahma, Vishnu, Siva, trees, mushrooms, and Isadora Duncan. I know things. For instance, there are 108 beads in a Catholic rosary and there are 108 stitches in a baseball. When I heard that, I gave Jesus a chance. But it just didn't work out between us. The Lord laid too much guilt on me. I prefer metaphysics to theology. You see, there's no guilt in baseball, and it's never boring... which makes it like sex...I've tried 'em all, I really have, and the only church that truly feeds the soul, day in, day out, is the Church of Baseball."
-Annie Savoy, Bull Durham

BASEBALL! The Philles lost to the Braves in the opening game of the season. Alas, but I don't actually care much about either teams. Tomorrow MY team, ORIOLES, is up against the Yankees. I am looking forward to having games on while doing work this month. BASEBALL! I am really excited.

Meanwhile, Jezebel had a great post from last year: 3 Reasons Why Smart Women Love Baseball. This year, they have a great opening day post with MOVIE CLIPS. GO.

IN LIBRIS HAS BEEN UPDATED!

Last night's episode of Supernatural was fantastic. I plan on writing down some thoughts about it later but it was so great. After the episode Brad, Alyssa, and I watched Bad Day at Black Rock as well as a bunch of movie trailers. I decided I need to show them the movies I grew up with. In my graphic novel class we just finished reading J.M. DeMatteis' Moonshadow which reminds me of a lot of the movies and television I watched as a child. I recommend it to everyone! It is a adult fair tale about become an adult. It is beautiful and touching.
